Who We are..

Shari Railton

As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist with 40 years of experience, I have navigated the challenges and embraced the honor of contributing to the care and well-being of many healthcare patients. My extensive experience across various departments in Diagnostic Imaging includes Radiology, Mammography, MRI, Lithotripsy, Surgery, and Interventional Radiology. For the last 18 years of my career, I served as the first technologist in our new MRI department and functioned as the lead tech as the department grew. I became a certified Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) in 2016, responsible for the safety of our patients, healthcare providers, and our MRI department.

Following the tragic death of a patient who was also a casual friend, I became determined to address the absence of an alarm at the patient's side or even in the room, which would have allowed me to call for help and potentially saved valuable time when seconds counted.

During another experience in MRI, the solution became clear to me. With the guidance of a retired MRI engineer and friend, I created and installed a technologist alarm system and responder protocol in our MRI department, which has been used successfully since.

Now, as a retired MRI Tech, I am compelled to bring this solution to the world, ensuring that no other technologist has to experience the feelings of isolation and stress that can arise during an emergency in MRI.

..and our story

Sid Perkins

I have over 40 years of experience in manufacturing and design across various disciplines, including electronics, mechanical engineering, machining, composites, casting, surface finishing techniques, and assembly. My expertise includes:

  • Evaluating and improving manufacturing processes

  • Conducting Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and preventive action assessments

  • Applying and teaching Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for risk analysis in design and manufacturing environments

  • Teaching process assessment techniques, RCCA, and APQP

  • Familiarity with industry standards

  • Conducting and teaching risk management and risk analysis

When Shari shared the story about her invention, I was immediately intrigued. As an engineer with a background in risk analysis, I saw an opportunity to contribute. By collaborating with Shari and leveraging her MRI expertise alongside my engineering skills, I worked to refine her original design to make improvements and reduce any risks. After several iterations, we created a system that is user-friendly, effective, comprehensive, and highly reliable.

I’ve always enjoyed the creative process, but it’s especially rewarding to be part of something with such potential to make a meaningful impact and improve many lives.
